Caraballo Elías, Oscar Rodríguez Cobas, Geovanys Pérez Trejo, Hayler M. agrobiodiversity underutilized species farms agrobiodiversidad especies infrautilizadas fincas La investigación se desarrolló en el marco del proyecto COBARB, en comunidades y fincas de la Reserva de Biosfera Cuchillas del Toa y el Parque Nacional “Alejandro de Humboldt”. Los principales objetivos se encaminaron a estudiar un grupo de especies de la agrobiodiversidad consideradas infrautilizadas, evaluar la situación del manejo actual y su presencia/ausencia en fincas y parcelas, identificar las amenazas biofísicas y socioeconómicas que enfrentan estos taxa en las diferentes localidades, así como establecer acciones y estrategias para incrementar su aprovechamiento y conservación. Se utilizaron diferentes métodos para la obtención de las informaciones básicas, entre ellos la aplicación de entrevistas y expediciones de campo con inventarios rápidos in situ. Se preseleccionó una lista de 30 especies que a priori se consideraron infrautilizadas, por criterios avalados por su baja frecuencia de aparición en ventas formales e informales, grupo en el cual se centró la investigación de campo. Los resultados alcanzados revelaron que todas las especies seleccionadas calificaron como infrautilizadas en los sitios estudiados. El 73,3 % de estos taxones tienen poblaciones muy pequeñas, por lo que se consideraron escasos. Se calculó el índice de presencia para cada taxa, el cual tuvo un valor enmarcado en una amplitud de 0 a 1, donde la granada, el rábano y la rollinea (Punica granatum, Raphanus sativus y Rollinea sp) obtuvieron los índices de presencia más bajos (0 y 0,03 respectivamente). This research has been developed within the framework of the COBARB project, in communities and farms of the Cuchillas del Toa Biosphere Reserve and the Alejandro de Humboldt National Park. The main objectives aimed at: studying a group of agrobiodiversity species considered underutilized, assessing the current management situation and their presence/absence in farms and plots, identifying the biophysical and socioeconomic threats facing these taxa in the different localities, as well as establishing actions and strategies to increase their use and conservation. Different methods were used to obtain the basic information, including the application of interviews and field expeditions with quick inventories in situ. A list of 30 species that were in advance considered underutilized, according to the criteria endorsed by their low frequency of appearance in formal and informal sales, therefore, this group focused on field research. The results obtained revealed that all classified as underutilized in the studied sites, 73,3 % of these taxa have very small populations, were considered scarce, the presence index for each taxa was calculated, the same had a value framed in an amplitude of (0-1), the pomegranate, the radish and the rollinea (Punica granatum, Raphanus sativus y Rollinea sp) obtained the lowest presence indexes (0 and 0,03 respectively).
