Se realizaron muestreos directos de acuerdo a la técnica de conteos comunes por hábitat. Los insectos colectados fueron conservados en una solución hidroalcoholica al 70 % y luego se procedió a su identificación. Se contabilizaron aquellas especies que pertenecieron a una misma categoría taxonómica evaluándose la composición insectil. Se calcularon como indicadores de diversidad alfa (α) Riqueza de especies (DMg), Dominancia de Simpson (DSp), Índice de Berger-Parker (d) y Diversidad general (Shannon H´). En el caso de la diversidad beta (β) se tuvieron en cuenta el Índice de Jaccard (Ij) y el de Morisita-Horn (IM-H ). Se registraron 5 101 individuos pertenecientes a cinco órdenes, 17 familias, 32 géneros y 35 especies. Los órdenes más representados fueron Coleoptera, Hymenoptera y Hemiptera y los gremios tróficos que mayor porcentaje mostraron fueron los fitófagos y controladores biológicos. La diversidad alfa manifestó una tendencia a la baja diversidad tanto por finca como por período evaluado aunque solo en la temporada poco lluviosa de la finca Tres Palmas se obtiene un valor de diversidad general en el rango establecido para este indicador. Existe disimilitud entre las fincas que se comparan lo que evidencia la presencia de especies exclusivas de cada finca adaptadas a las condiciones ambientales del lugar. The work was carried out with the objective of evaluating the behavior of insect diversity associated with the flora existing in two farms of suburban agriculture in Santiago de Cuba. Direct samplings were carried out according to the technique of common counts by habitat. The collected insects were conserved in a 70% hydroalcoholic solution and then proceeded to their identification. Those species that belonged to the same taxonomic category were evaluated, evaluating the insect composition. They were calculated as diversity indicators alpha (α) Species richness (DMg), Simpson dominance (DSp), Berger-Parker index (d) and General diversity (Shannon H'). The most represented orders were Coleoptera, Hymenoptera and Hemiptera and the trophic guilds that showed the highest percentage were phytophagous and biological controllers. Alpha diversity manifested a tendency towards low diversity both by farm and by evaluated period, although only in the low rainy season of the Tres Palmas farm a general diversity value is obtained in the range established for this indicator. There is dissimilarity between the farms that are compared, which shows the presence of exclusive species of each farm adapted to the environmental conditions of the place.
