Variacion de la concentración de microorganismos en distintos suelos de Cuba Variation behavior of the concentration of microorganisms in different soils of Cuba Ortega García, Marisel Caraballo Barreto, Ignacio Ríos Rocafull, Yoania Orellana Gallego, Rosa Martínez Viera, Rafael Dibut Álvarez, Bernardo beneficial fertility functions beneficiosos fertilidad funciones En este trabajo se evaluó el comportamiento de diferentes microorganismos del suelo en zonas de Occidente, Centro y Oriente en veinte tipos de suelos del país pertenecientes a siete agrupamientos donde se incluyen la mayoría de los procesos de formación. Se colectaron 10 gramos de suelo los que se diluyeron para cuantificar la concentración de algunos microorganismos como solubilizadores de fósforo, fijadores de nitrógeno atmosférico, actinomicetos, hongos, levaduras y microorganismos totales. Se empleó el Método de Diluciones Seriadas con posterior siembra en Placas Petri y medios selectivos para cada uno de los grupos microbianos involucrados. De manera general las mayores concentraciones de microorganismos se observaron en la rizosfera de las zonas montañosas, las que coinciden con áreas poco explotadas o en su ambiente natural. En los llanos se encontró un decremento de los microorganismos, lo que puede deberse al nivel de explotación y malas prácticas agrícolas ambas, abundantes bajo estas condiciones. Las concentraciones microbianas determinadas oscilaron entre 104 -107 UFC/g de suelo en terrenos llanos y ondulados respectivamente, lo que sin dudas evidencia la pérdida de fertilidad que ha ocurrido en nuestros suelos fundamentalmente en los llanos por la explotación a que han sido sometidos. Trabajos de este tipo permiten considerar como aspecto a tener en cuenta, dada las funciones que realizan los microorganismos y su importancia como indicador de fertilidad del suelo.
