Estudio de tres variedades de Cucumis sativus L. y selección de la de mejor comportamiento en las condiciones del huerto intensivo “UBPC El Vivero” Study of three varieties Cucumis sativus L. and selection of best performance in the conditions of intensive gardening "UBPC El Vivero" Vargas Batis , Belyani Martinella Portuondo , Andris Candó González , Larisbel Ramírez Bravo , Anaisa Rodríguez Suárez , Ernesto Jesús González Pozo, Leivis Montero Limonta , Gerardo Cucumis intensive gardening vegetable cucumber Cucumis huerto intensivo hortaliza pepino La investigación se llevó a cabo en el Huerto Intensivo “UBPC El Vivero” con el objetivo de seleccionar a partir del estudio de tres variedades de pepino (Cucumis sativus L.) aquella de mejor comportamiento en las condiciones edafoclimáticas del lugar. Se realizó un análisis documental para recopilar los datos referentes al suelo y las condiciones climáticas. Se montó un experimento sobre un diseño en bloques completos al azar con tres tratamientos y cuatro réplicas. Los tratamientos consistieron en las tres variedades evaluadas a las cuales se les realizaron mediciones a los 25, 35, 45 y 55 días después de la siembre. Las variables evaluadas estaban relacionadas con los procesos de germinación, crecimiento y desarrollo. Los datos fueron procesados en el paquete estadístico ANOVA y las medias fueron comparadas por la prueba de Duncan para un 5% de confiabilidad, además fue valorada la factibilidad económica. Los resultados obtenidos permiten plantear que las condiciones de suelo y clima en el área son apropiadas para la producción de pepino, siempre y cuando se disponga de un sistema de riego que permita el suministro de los volúmenes de agua que exige el cultivo. Desde el punto de vista de la germinación, crecimiento y desarrollo la variedad Puerto Padre fue la de mejor comportamiento según las condiciones edafoclimáticas del lugar. Con la inclusión de dicha variedad en la cadena productiva del huerto intensivo los resultados económicos se verán favorecidos al obtenerse ganancias que superan los $ 6 000.00. The research was carried out in the garden intensive "UBPC El Vivero" with the object to select from the study of three varieties of cucumber (Cucumis sativus L.) that better behavior in soil and climatic conditions of the site. Documentary analysis was conducted to collect data relating to the soil and climatic conditions. Design an experiment in a randomized complete block design with three treatments and four replicates were mounted. Treatments consisted of three varieties evaluated at which measurements were performed at 25, 35, 45 and 55 days after sowing. The evaluated variables were related to the processes of germination, growth and development. The data were processed in the ANOVA statistical package and means were compared by Duncan test for a 5% confidence also was assessed the economic feasibility. The results obtained allow to state that the conditions of soil and climate in the area are suitable for cucumber production, provided they have a system that allows irrigation supply water volumes required by the crop. From the point of view of the germination, growth and development the variety Puerto Padre was the best performing according to soil and climatic conditions of the place. With the inclusion of that variety in the production chain of intensive orchard economic performance will be favored by obtaining profits that exceed $ 6,000.00.
