Actualmente se está implementando el proyecto “Introducción de nuevos métodos agrícolas para la conservación y el uso sostenible de la biodiversidad incluyendo recursos fito y zoogenéticos en paisajes productivos en áreas seleccionadas de Cuba” (COBIMAS). Una de las necesidades del proyecto y objetivo de la presente investigación es realizar el análisis espacial del manejo sostenible de los recursos fito y zoogenéticos para la alimentación y la agricultura. Se seleccionaron 19 unidades productivas ubicadas en el APRM “Ciénaga de Zapata” e indicadores de sostenibilidad sociales, productivos y ambientales, así como factores naturales. Los resultados fundamentales obtenidos fueron diversos mapas de los recursos fito y zoogenéticos que se manejan en las unidades productivas y el análisis las fortalezas y limitantes que los productores presentan para dicho manejo. Existen diferencias marcadas en el manejo de estos recursos entre unidades ubicadas en Soplillar y Cayo Ramona-La Ceiba. In Cuba, numerous investigations and projects of family farming and biodiversity have been made in protected areas. The project “Introduction of new agricultural methods for the conservation and sustainable use of biodiversity, including plant and animal genetic resources in productive landscapes in selected areas of Cuba” (COBIMAS) is currently being implemented. One of the needs of the project is the implementation  of geographic information systems in order to fulfill its objectives. For this reason, this research´s objective is the spatial analysis of the sustainable management of plant and animal genetic resources for food and agriculture. It was selected 19 productive units located in the APRM "Ciénaga de Zapata" and indicators of social, productive and environmental sustainability, as well as natural factors. As result it has diverse maps of plant and animal genetic resources managed in the productive units and the analysis of the strengths and limitations that the producers present. There are marked differences in the management of these resources between units located in Soplillar and Cayo Ramona-La Ceiba.
