La capacidad agrícola de fincas de la Reserva de la Biosfera "Cuchillas del Toa", municipio Baracoa Agricultural capacity in farms into the Reserve of the Biosphere “Cuchillas del Toa”, Baracoa Socorro García, Alfredo Kaufmann, Madeleine González Álvarez, Alejandro Hernández Hernández, Yakelín Sánchez Rodríguez, Yanisbell Ortíz Guilián, Leanne Cristóbal Suárez, Raúl Zamora Martín, Jorge Luis agrological capacity reserve of biosphere soil capacidad agrocológica reserva de la Biosfera suelos En el presente trabajo se realizó un estudio de la capacidad agrícola de 12 fincas comprendidas en cinco comunidades pertenecientes a la zona del municipio de Baracoa que comprende a la reserva de la Biosfera “Cuchillas del Toa”. De este modo se hizo un diagnóstico por medio de encuestas y se practicó una geo-localización por GPS para ubicar mediante programas computarizados de procesamiento de sistemas de información geográficos (SIG), las características físico-químicas de los suelos. Para este fin se utilizaron datos de la caracterización y uso de la tierra, aportados por proyectos anteriores. Los resultados mostraron que los territorios estudiados poseen una capacidad agrológica por encima de la media a nivel municipal. Además en las referidas fincas existela tendencia a prácticas de manejo que resultan menos agresivas al medio ambiente, en comparación con el resto del municipio donde hay territorios fuertemente degradados. An agricultural capacity study is developed for 12 farms into five communities in the municipality of Baracoa considering the land associated to the Reserve of the Biosphere “Cuchillas del Toa”. The production information was collected through surveys while a points geo-referenced were located by GPS system and processed using a computerized program geographic (SIG) with information about the physical and chemical characteristics of soils. Data of characterization and utilization of land were also provided and applied from previous project. The results showed that the regions studied contain a agrological capacity higher than the main value at the municipality level. On the other hand on the farms studied were found a tendency to apply agricultural management practices with a low damage regarding the rest of land of Baracoa where there are strongly degraded regions.
