Muchas de las especies están singularmente dotadas para sobrevivir y resistir a las temperaturas, las grandes sequías y las inundaciones. En Cuba se emplea exitosamente el producto Diurón en diversas formulaciones. El objetivo del presente trabajo es evaluar el control de malezas y la fitotoxicidad en la caña de azúcar de la aplicación en pre-emergencia del Comurón PH 80 en comparación con el tratamiento estándar Diurón PH 80 en condiciones de humedad, para lo cual se estableció un experimento de prueba de productos en la UBPC El Encanto, perteneciente a la Empresa Azucarera América Libre, situado en la provincia Santiago de Cuba, sobre un suelo Pardo Sialítico, en la cepa caña planta y la variedad C89-250. Se utilizó un diseño de bloques al azar, 5 tratamientos y 6 réplicas. Las evaluaciones se efectuaron a los 20, 40 y 60 días después de aplicado el producto. Las dosis evaluadas del Comurón PH 80 fueron de 4, 6 y 8 kg/ha, mientras que el tratamiento estándar la dosis fue de 6 kg/ha. Los mejores resultados se obtuvieron con el tratamiento Comurón PH 80, a dosis de 4 y 6 kg/ha producto comercial (3.2 a 4.8 kg ia/ha), realizando un control de malezas eficaz y similar al realizado por el estándar Diuron PH 80 a 6 kg/ha p.c. (4.8 kg ia/ha), sin que el cultivo mostrará síntomas de fitotoxicidad. The weeds compete with the cane for the light, the water and the nutrients increasing the costs and diminishing the yields. The objective of the present work is to evaluate the control of overgrowths and the fitotoxicidad in the sugarcane of the application in pre-emergency of the Comurón PH 80 in comparison with the standard treatment Diurón PH 80 under conditions of humidity, for that which an experiment of test of products settled down in the UBPC El Encanto belonging to the Sugar Company America Libre, located in the Santiago de Cuba province, on a calcid sialític soil, in the stump cane plants and the variety C89-250.
