Regla Terry Alfonso, Elein Soto Carreño, Francisco gerbera spacing nutritional alternatives production inflorescences gerbera densidad de plantación alternativas nutricionales producción inflorescencias La gerbera puede producir flores durante todo el año, en su hábitat natural en época de seca, a causa de condiciones climáticas desfavorables por temperaturas inferiores a 0oC, entra en reposo, sin embargo; los rendimientos obtenidos durante su ciclo productivo estarán en dependencia de las distancias empleadas durante su plantación (30 x 30 cm, 30 x 40 cm, 70 x 30 cm u otra), así como de la nutrición que se emplee, siempre y cuando las restantes atenciones al cultivo sean adecuadas, teniendo en cuenta la norma técnica del cultivo. Siendo así, en el Instituto Nacional de Ciencias Agrícolas (INCA), se llevo a cabo esta investigación durante los años 2003-2004, 2004-2005; con la finalidad de evaluar el comportamiento productivo de Gerbera jamesonii cv Bolus establecida al aire libre con tres densidades de plantación (0,90 x 0,20 x 0,30; 0,90 x 0,20 x 0,20 y 0,90 x 0,20 x 0,10 cm) y alternativas nutricionales diferentes (fertilizante mineral, estiércol vacuno y micorriza). Los resultados arrojaron que a los 45 y 90 días del trasplante se lograron volúmenes productivos superiores en la plantación de mayo. De manera general, el comportamiento térmico influyó tanto en la producción total como en la distribución de esa producción y el tratamiento 8 (12 plantas.m-2+Estiércol vacuno) fue el que mayor número de inflorescencias produjo por metro cuadrado, sin diferir estadísticamente del tratamiento 5 (12 plantas.m-2+HMA) en el primer año. In Cuba, gerbera can produce flowers during the whole year. In its natural medium in a winter, due to unfavorable climatic conditions, this plant take a rest; however, the yields obtained during its productive cycle will be in dependence of the spacing used during its plantation, as well as of the nutrition that is used, provided the remaining attentions to the cultivation are well assisted.
