El objetivo del presente trabajo fue evaluar las secuelas de estos fenómenos y poner en práctica medidas para mitigar sus efectos. Se realizó la evaluación de los daños, de 15-30 días después del paso de los huracanes “Gustav” e “Ike”, por especialistas del INIFAT y de la Estación Ecológica Sierra del Rosario, enclavada en el territorio y que maneja el área de la reserva de la Bisofera del mismo nombre, a través del registro visual de la diversidad y de la realización de encuestas. La pérdida de especies no fue en ninguno de los casos muy grande, aunque las afectaciones fueron bastante serias en la infraestructura de las propiedades. Entre las medidas de mitigación puestas en práctica, estuvieron la entrega de semilla de especies de ciclo corto para renovar rápidamente la producción, la restauración de diversidad tradicional perdida y la consolidación de la estrategia de bancos ocales de semilla y la entrega de biofertilizantes para acelerar el crecimiento de los cultivos. Se debe incrementar la capacitación y la cooperación entre los agricultores, para que se apoyen desde el punto de vista moral y material, así como incorporar a los jóvenes, en aras de enfrentar las acciones pertinentes de mitigación de los daños producidos por el cambio climático. The restoration of damaged agricultural systems, especially in the traditional agriculture is one of the challenges that impose the changing conditions of the planet in the last decades. The objective of the present work was to evaluate the sequels of these phenomena and to put into practice measures to mitigate their effects. It was carried out an evaluation of the damages, 15-30 days after the path of the hurricanes "Gustav" and "Ike", conducted by INIFAT´s specialists and also from Sierra del Rosario´s Ecological Station, located in the territory which manages the area the Reserve of the same name, through the visual registration of the diversity and the performance of surveys. There is no so much loss of species in the majority of the cases, although the affectations were quite serious for the infrastructure of the properties. Among the mitigation measures putted into practice, were the delivery of seed of short cycle species in order to renovate the production, the restoration of lost traditional diversity, the consolidation of the strategy of local seed banks and the biofertilizers delivery to accelerate crops growth. Training and the cooperation among the farmers should be increased, so they could support each other from the moral and material point of view, as well as to incorporate the youths, for the sake of facing the pertinent damages mitigation actions derived from the climatic change.
