Physiological behavior of soybean commercial cultivars [Glycine max (L.) Merill.] under field conditions
Main Article Content
Abstract
The productive potential of nine soybeans [Glycine max (L. )Merill.] commercial varieties was determined by evaluating of physiological behavior under field conditions. Two experiments were conducted on Red Ferralitic soil, using a random block design. Phenological evaluations and dry matter determinations were performed at different ontogenetic stages. Growth velocity, Absolute Growth Rate (AGR) and yield components were evaluated. The varieties Cubasoy-120, INIFAT V-9, INIFAT 382 and Flora showed the highest growth velocity. Similarly, Flora showed the longest roots at 77 days after planting (dap), followed by ´INIFAT V-9´, ´Jupiter´ and ´Cubasoy-120´ (important indicator of drought tolerance). The highest dry matter accumulation occurred at 77 dap, when ´INIFAT V-9´, ´Júpiter´, ´Cubasoy-120´ and ´Flora´ showed the highest AGR values. Regarding the average grain weight, as an expression of plant productivity, the varieties were ranked in the following order: ´Cubasoy-120´ (0,599 g), ´Flora´ (0,574g), ´INIFAT-382´ (0,560g) and ´Júpiter´ (0,542g). Knowing the productive potential of these varieties allowed an adequate management of soybean diversity.
