Historical antecedents of irrigation activity in the Agronomic Experimental Station de Santiago of the Vegas, Cuba

Abstract
In the period neocolonial in our country the agriculture had little development with this the irrigation activity, we intended in this work, to make a search in the file of the old Agronomic Station of Santiago of the Vegas, today INIFAT, where 153 unpublished files are conserved on the development and organization of the activity of the watering, between 1929 and 1959 that are part of the file number 452, with a view to knowing the antecedents of this activity. The results obtained show that of the total of 153 files, 40 % is with ends of evacuation of consultations, 44 % dedicated to organization and development of the watering in the property and investigations of the watering application and 16 % of the documents referred to valuation of offers of watering teams, evaluation of technical and publications. This shows the interest of the scientists of that time in to deepen on the thematic one and to offer knowledge to people interested in this activity, what shows the development of the watering in the Agronomic Experimental Station and in the country.
