Contribución al fortalecimiento del sistema productivo de las plantas aromáticas y de condimentos frescos en el Instituto de Investigaciones Hortícolas “Liliana Dimitrova”

Abstract
En el Instituto de Investigaciones Hortícolas “Liliana Dimitrova” (IIHLD) se llevó a cabo una investigación durante el período 2014 – 2016 con el objetivo de determinar acciones que contribuyan al desarrollo sostenible del sistema productivo de las plantas aromáticas y de condimentos (PAC) frescos mediante el empleo de herramientas de la Extensión Agraria participativa, con un enfoque sistémico y de cadena productiva. Se empleó como referencia la metodología propuesta por el Proyecto de Apoyo al Sistema de Extensión Agraria en Cuba (PASEA).Se aplicaron entrevistas y encuestas como técnicas para obtener la información necesaria para caracterizar el sistema productivo. Se desarrolló un taller participativo para validar la matriz DAFO y a partir de su evaluación cruzada se elaboró un plan de acción para optimizar su desarrollo. Se concluye que el sistema productivo de las plantas aromáticas y de condimentos frescos en el Instituto de Investigaciones Hortícolas “Liliana Dimitrova”, tiene un gran potencial para su desarrollo sostenible a pesar de los factores críticos que lo limitan. A partir del diagnóstico participativo se pudo determinar que los factores críticos que afectan el sistema productivo son: la falta de recursos financieros, los problemas operativos internos y la insuficiente fuerza laboral agrícola. La implementación del plan de acción elaborado en la investigación contribuirá a elevar los resultados productivos a mediano y largo plazo. Se recomienda implementar el plan de acción propuesto para minimizar los factores críticos que inciden en la producción. El resultado tiene un impacto social porque se puede utilizar el documento de tesis como material de consulta en la educación de pre y postgrado y para investigadores.
