Abstract

It is evaluated the occurrence of alogamia during regeneration and maintenance process of the species and cultivars of Capsicum collections, in 20 accessions conserved ex situ. 11 variables were evaluated during two years,: six morphological and six environmental ones, under spontaneous pollination systems. A Principal Components Analysis (SSPS v.11.5) and Spearman correlations were carried out to know the variables relations. Six correlations were detected among flowers characteristics and insects incidence, for the natural cross pollinations; the most important were large corolla-exerted stigma, large corolla-aphis incidence. It was evidenced that 26.8 0C (optimum temperature for the stigma elongation) and low maximum and medium weed speed, 36.9 km/h y 6.7 km/h respectively, that influenced in high insects density observed, and therefore in its possible pollination activity, facilitating the alogamia. The varietals mix effects, were observed in the second years of the studies concerning to taste of fruits, as consequence of cross pollinations among the C. annuum-chinense-frutescens complex in Cuba.
