Inventories and the stated of the ex situ conservation in national collections of vegetables, grains and oil plants
Main Article Content
Abstract
The inventory of the national collections of vegetables, grains and oil plants conserved in the INIFAT Gene Bank was realized. The work was developed by the general manual inventories of the collections and their computer register. The actual results of the last inventory showing that it conserve in the camara refrigerated at 5-7ºC seed of 3223 accessions of 62 species, a large part of them in aluminium paper bag or in glass bottle. Also, it was determined that is conserved like work collections of the plant breeders about 260 accessions of 32 species. The monitory results with the tomato (Solanum lycopersicum) collections and cowpea (Vigna unguiculata) ratify that the describe conditions permit the conservation of the these orthodoxies species by a average period of the 10 years and several legumes cultivars has reached conservation period that surpass the 20 years. This work permit to establish the future strategy of regeneration and multiplication of collections conserved ex situ.
