Strategy for energy and environmental integrated management in farms of the popular council Madrugón. Guamá municipality. Santiago de Cuba

Abstract
As a result of the project “Energy and environmental integrated management of Sevilla river hydrographic basin at the Guamá municipality, Santiago de Cuba province", a program was obtained for the appropriate knowledge and technologies transference in five selected farms types, belonging to the Popular Council Madrugón. The project was developed by means of a process of direct exchange with the peasants, the Popular Council administration and the community actors. The objective of this project was to create conditions for the establishment of a Local Eco-Agriculture System; and for this began a training program directed to member of the selected farms, regarding to technological systems and organizational procedures for the adoption of productive models based on agro ecological techniques. The advantages of these procedures were presented as via of reaching better productive yields and the invigoration of the natural resources protection activities in the area, especially those related to the sustainable use of the water resources, soils and forests. For each one of the farms it was carried out a development proposal on sustainable agricultural techniques and the creation of an agricultural and forest management effectiveness indicators system, as tool for the realization of self-diagnoses and advances or setbacks results evaluation of their productive acting and environmental conservation actions. Finally, an integral strategy was elaborated for techniques and agro ecological procedures development and renewable energy sources transference for the selected farms.
