Main Article Content
Abstract
An agricultural capacity study is developed for 12 farms into five communities in the municipality of Baracoa considering the land associated to the Reserve of the Biosphere “Cuchillas del Toa”. The production information was collected through surveys while a points geo-referenced were located by GPS system and processed using a computerized program geographic (SIG) with information about the physical and chemical characteristics of soils. Data of characterization and utilization of land were also provided and applied from previous project. The results showed that the regions studied contain a agrological capacity higher than the main value at the municipality level. On the other hand on the farms studied were found a tendency to apply agricultural management practices with a low damage regarding the rest of land of Baracoa where there are strongly degraded regions.
