Abstract

Diversity conditions of soil, climate and agricultural handling of the sugar cane cultivation, carry than the productivity attained by the cultivars used at determined regions manifest an expression told apart, with independence of his genetic potentialities. The knowledge as to the genetic improvement of the cultivation in Iran has been as good as exclusively confined to the introduction and evaluation of varieties of other countries with similar climatic characteristics. Of late years these introductions have reached into other regions, which is why the evaluation of the genetic present-day diversity proves to be interesting. In the present work toast to him the correspondent results to the evaluation of 174 cultivars collected in the cane areas of the Iranian Khuzestan Valley and planted in the unit of production Amir Kabir. The statistical processing of morphologic, chemistries and productive variables information showed ample range of variation, becoming more evident for stalk weight, cane and sugar yields, and more discreet for brix, purity and sugar recovered. Sugar yield did not yield significant differences between the groups formed a priori on the base of the motherlands of varieties and neither an adequate group in mail with his origin revealed the multi-varied Discriminant Analysis. Similar possibilities to have equally productive individuals for Iran, with independence of the country of origin exist in the evaluated population. The evaluation of the varieties of bigger production of sugar in multi-environmental answered back studies is suggested.
