Some aspects related to the life and work of Leandro Ramos Ledon. Director of the Agronomic Experimental Station (1959-1960)
Main Article Content
Abstract
The Agronomic Experimental Station of Santiago de las Vegas (today INIFAT) is a valuable historic, scientific and cultural patrimony. The knowledge accumulated over the years has been used for various directors at the Agronomic Station from the beginning of the XX century to our days. The objective of this paper is to investigate some aspects related to the life and work of Eng. Leandro Ramos Ledón, who directed the station in the period of 1959-60, following Eng. Antonio Portuondo Miyares’s mandate. In the short time leading the Agronomic Station, it is evident his quality as an agricultural research on the one hand, and his apolitical convictions on the other, which made him resigned to his responsibility in the early times of the nascent revolution.
