Acumulación y movilización de materia seca en los entrenudos del tallo principal de plantas de arroz (Oryza sativa L. Var. J-104)
Main Article Content
Abstract
The aim of this paper was to study the dry mass accumulation and mobilization from the three internodes of the main stem during rice grain filling. The experiment was carried out in four planting dates on a Hidromorphic Gley Nodular Ferruginous soil, contained in glassed-clay pots. The length, the dry mass and the carbohydrate content of the three main internodes of the rice cultivar J-104 were determined. The carbohydrate accumulation increased during the first ten days after anthesis and decreased afterwards until the physiological maturity. The dry mass of the internodes showed a similar trend. In general, the stem reserve mobilization rate was similar among the three internodes at the four planting dates. This mobilization coincided with the reduction in the leaf area of the main stem. The correlation found in this experiment between the internodes dry mass and its carbohydrate concentration suggests that the dry mass of the internodes could be used to identified cultivars with a high capacity of carbon reserve mobilization.
