Abstract
Alvaro Barba Machado born the February 4, 1923, in Cascorro, the province from Camagüey. From child his student life linked the learning of agronomy, to graduate like agronomist, in 1947. The revolutionary process was linked from its beginnings, so that he was afflicted with exile. With revolutionary triumph of the first January, he occupied numerous fees in the agricultural sphere nationally, within the ones that he highlights the one belonging to first director of Agronomic Experiment Station of Santiago de las Vegas. All Alvaro’s effort, in this debit and in front of Reforestación’s and Fruticultura’s Apartment of Reforma Agraria’s National Institute (today Ministery of Agriculture), that he occupied during his short but fertilizes life like scientific leader, they were intended for reforestation and fruit tree of a country devastated by the war. What the objective of this work consists for in one accomplishing a journey for the revolutionary leader’s life, the scientist and the man. Highlighting his work like first director of Agronomic Experiment Station of Santiago de las Vegas.
