Agroecologic nutrition manages in short cycle plantations of “Red Maradol” papaya
Main Article Content
Abstract
The papaya cultivation have highly demanding of nutrition, however, the possibilities to obtain acceptable yields without the uses of chemical inputs constitute to polemic at the present it cheats for the scientists. This research was developed in the project “Agro ecologic production of ‘Maradol Roja’ papaya for the urban agriculture conditions”. The plantation was carried out in 0.75 hectares with ferralitic red soil, during 2007 year in “Santiago de Las Vegas” town. The first papaya plantation without chemical fertilization and after were carried out activities to improve the soil properties with the incorporation of green payments (canavalia and corn), together organic matter evenly distributed. The plantlets were transplanted to the field in January, 2007. They were carried out two treatments so much with biological products to soil and to foliate and with chemical fertilization combined with the organic applications. Aleatorily were selected 20 plants by treatment and it were evaluated during seven months the following variables: height plant, shaft diameter, active leaves number and height until first inflorescence. It was carried out a comparison of stockings with a t test for independent samples with the use of the SPSS Program, 11.5 version. It was reached more of 50 Ton/ha., without significant difference among two treatments. The effectiveness of the yields reached in only 10 months (starting from the transplant), demonstrates that with the integrated use of bio-fertilizer and growth stimulating substances divers it’s possible to have agro-ecological technologies for the papaya production and commercialization compatible with environment.
