Production of gerbera postures (Gerbera jamesonii cv. Bolus) for the cepellón technique in tray types

Abstract
The experiment was carried out in areas at "Liliana Dimitrova" Horticultural Research Institute, in Quivicán, Havana, Cuba. It was used trays of 150 alveolus of 4.0 cm x 4.0 cm x
7.0 cm (long wide x x depth), trays of 247 alveolus of 2.9 cm x 2.9 cm x 6.5 cm and trays of 294 alveolus of 2.1 cm x 2.1cm x 4 cm. The evaluated variables were longitude of the root (cm), longitude of the shaft (cm), number of leaves, fresh weight of root (g), weigh fresh of the shaft (g), weigh dry of the root (g) and dry weight of the shaft. As a result of the work the feasibility of the employment of the technique of production of postures was demonstrated in root ball in the obtaining of postures of quality in the gerbera cultivation. Bigger height of the plant was obtained (10.3 cm to 9.0 cm) and of root (6.8 cm to 6.4 cm) and therefore of fresh weight and I dry off of both and an average of 7 leaves for postures in the trays with alveolus of more volume (45 cm3) and (32 cm3). In the trays of smaller alveolus depth and volume, although the best quality of postures was not achieved in size and weight, yes it is effective its employment since it exists a base saving and easiness of extraction of the root ball of the alveolus.
