Abstract
Durante los días 1ro., 2 y 3 de abril del 2009 se desarrolló la XII Jornada Científica del INIFAT, esta edición en ocasión de celebrarse el 105 Aniversario de la creación de la antigua “Estación Experimental Agronómica de Santiago de las Vegas”. El Cro. Ulises Rosales del Toro, Miembro del Buró Político del Partido, Vicepresidente del Consejo de Ministros y Ministro de la Agricultura, el Dr. Ismael Clark, Presidente de la Academia de Ciencias de Cuba y otros funcionarios invitados presidieron el acto de inauguración de la misma, en el cual se instaba a crear un espacio propicio para el intercambio entre especialistas y por tanto al debate científico-técnico como aporte al avance del sector agrícola en el país. Los resultados obtenidos durante estos días de trabajo, el debate y las recomendaciones que se derivaron del mismo superaron con creces nuestras expectativas.
