Methodology to obtain sunflowers (Helianthus annuus L.) hybrid
Main Article Content
Abstract
Sunflower (Helianthus annuus L.) it is one of the four more important oleaginous crops in the world. It is cultivated in the five continents, in more than 20 million hectares. The biggest producers are Russia, Argentina and the United States. At the moment it is considered as the fourth in oil production of and one of the best adapted to conditions of shortage of water and nutritious. The hybridization is considered as a basic and highly effective method in order to achieve “the improvement” in a great number of cultivations and to develop precocity, high yields, uniformity and to combine this with other valuable economic characters, in the case of sunflower, it is based fundamentally on the employment of lines with male sterility, and restoring lines of the fertility. In this paper we presented a methodology for hybrid production, bases in the male sterility in the specie, as well as the biological bases for the production and the methodology for its cultivation.
