Importance of black spot disease (Alternaria brassicicola (Schw.) Wilts.) in radish (Raphanus sativus L.) for seed production
Main Article Content
Abstract
Seed-borne diseases are common and prevalent in brassicaceae, especially in radishes species (Raphanus sativus L.). In this piece of work have being compiled the micoflora harbored in radish seeds, being very common a complex of Alternaria species which are frequents and potentially dangerous for subsequent crops, A. brassicicola standing out among them. With the aim of making easier the diagnosis in routine tests the habit character of Alternaria species was studied to propose a diagrammatic key useful for phytosanitary watch. Also was documented the transmission cycle of black spot disease and penetration depth in the seed as previous step for disease control assays with proper fungicides.
