Abstract

The work was developed in the experimental organoponic of the Research Institute on Agricultural Engineering (IAgric) Arroyo Naranjo, municipality in Havana province, with the objective of evaluating the irrigation quality by means of the study of distribution patterns when placing to different heights the diffuser on the bed. Bed of 1,20 m an 10 m long were used to settle lateral with microjet located to different heights, (on the irrigation lateral to 5 cm of height, 10cm, 25 cm and 60 cm). They were carried out different pluviometric tests to determine irrigation quality parameters. According to the results obtained, water volumes fallen outside the bed increase with emitter´s height, having bigger affectation when the emitter is placed to 60 cm getting losses of 44,6% of the water outside the bed. When the emitter is placed on the lateral one, to 5 and 15 cm of height, the excessively watered area of 72,2% increases to 83,33%, diminishing the insufficiently watered area reaching values between 5,55% and 16,66%. The coefficient of uniformity increased as emitter´s height increases, improving the distribution of the water inside the bed. An emitter´s height of 15 cm is recommended on the bed until the 15 centimeters, to more height it is bigger the area with inadequacy of water and which gets lost outside the bed due to wind or evaporation.
